James "Jemmy" Wood was an infamous Gloucester character in his day, and is widely accepted to have inspired Charles Dickens' character "Scrooge". He owned much of the Parish of Corse, and his coat of arms is still prominently displayed on Corse Court
William Botiller: A fifteenth century servant of the Kings, made his home in CORSE throughout his life.
