Corse & Staunton are two adjoining villages located within the northern part of the Forest of Dean, approximately 7 miles north of the City of Gloucester on the A417. The market towns of Ledbury, Newent & Tewkesbury are all close by

The range of local services and facilities include a general store and post office together with a butchers shop, a Doctors surgery, Primary school and two public houses.

The Village Hall is a busy meeting place for many local groups and there are two coarse fishing lakes along with caravan sites situated by the two churches that serve the communities.

Local bus services operate between Gloucester—Tewkesbury and Gloucester—Ledbury and both stop at convenient locations within the two communities.

CORSE AND STAUNTON ANNUAL PARISH MEETINGS 2010

In an effort to reduce costs and improve communication on important issues that affect both parishes it is proposed to hold a combined meeting of the two villages at the Village Hall on 11th May starting at 7.0 pm.

Invitations have been sent to representatives of local interest groups / organisations and statutory support services including Police., District Council and County Council members.

Members of the Public will be given the opportunity to question Councillors, Committee Representatives and Support Services and also generate discussion on matters that are considered to be of mutual interest to the local community.

To conclude the evening individual parish meetings will be held to enable each Council to provide an account of actions taken or proposed on behalf of their respective parishes.
